Bidadari Cemetery opened 1908 as a municipal cemetery for Singapore's Christian, Muslim, Hindu, and Sinhalese communities.

Closed 1972.

All 147,000 graves exhumed between 2001 and 2006, and the site became Bidadari Park.

Photo taken 22 April 2013.

Work started to convert the park into Bidadari Estate later that year.


This place is now a construction site.


Built 1947 as Singapore's first post-war Singapore Improvement Trust flats.

The last tenants moved out in October 2012.

The flats were demolished the following year.


The site is now a vacant field.


Bukit Brown Cemetery opened 1922.

Closed 1973.

The gates were removed in 2015 and this part of the cemetery expunged for eight-lane Lornie Highway which will slice the cemetery in half.


The gates have been restored and reinstalled at a new access road near its original location.
